Royce Gracie is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist and the son of Helio Gracie. A legend and pioneer in the sport of mixed martial arts, he is widely considered to be the most influential figure in the history of MMA. He became known for beating opponents much larger then him consistently outweighing him by more than 50 pounds. He was the tournament winner of UFC 1, UFC 2 and UFC 4. He holds the most submission victories in UFC history with 11. Royce is the only man in the history of no holds barred matches to successfully defeat four opponents in one night. Paramount Pictures' 2010 drama "The Fighter" chronicles the rise of Eklund's younger brother Micky Ward. The film stars Christian Bale as Eklund and Mark Wahlberg as Ward. At the 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Eklund made a surprise appearance on stage with Christian Bale as he accepted the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Eklund.
